School Counseling

About Ms. Mellick

I am Ms. Mellick and I am so excited to be your school counselor at Burgess-Peterson Academy! This is my 10th year in the greatest profession in the world. When I am not spreading the love at BPA, I am usually with my family: Ryan and Hazel. We love to go on adventures together, dance, sing, color, and ride bikes in the neighborhood.

Why do I show up to school every day? I believe all human beings need to feel a sense of belonging and contribution to something larger than themselves. It is my job to ensure that EVERY student feels that they truly belong to the BPA family, with an active role in making a difference to the community.

I am so honored to support YOU in the journey!

Advisory Council

The American School Counselor Association defines an advisory council as a "representative group of stakeholders selected to review and advise on the implementation of the school counseling program. It is explicitly focused on the school counseling program and gives a voice to stakeholders through dialogue and critique. The council meets at least twice a year and maintains an agenda and minutes for each meeting. " --ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs, 4th Edition.
